ThinkMarkets is an Australian company with a global presence. It’s worth noting that ThinkMarkets used to be known as ThinkForex, so you may well have heard of it under a different name. It was set up in 2010, so it’s a relatively new entrant to the market – although it has still had time to accumulate some expertise. It is regulated by bodies across the world, although it has a different legal name in each place. In Australia, it is regulated as TF Global Markets Pty, in the UK as TF Global Markets Limited, and it is even regulated in Bermuda under the name Think Capital Limited.
The amount you’ll have to pay to ThinkMarkets in fees will depend in large part on the account type you opt for. If you choose its standard account, you’ll need to pay a minimum deposit of $250 and be subject to spreads which are not quite as cost-effective – although you won’t be charged commission. The PRO account, meanwhile, provides better spreads – and you will only ever be charged whatever the equivalent of $6 RT per standard lot is for your transactions. However, you will need to maintain an account with $2,000 in it.
In terms of trading platforms, ThinkMarkets offers its in-house one called Trade Interceptor. This can only be used on the desktop, but it does come with 102 technical indicators. Many traders may be more comfortable using the Meta Trader 4 platform, which is also available. Unfortunately, the most recent integration of the MT platform, Meta Trader 5, is not yet available.
There are lots of different ways to get in touch with ThinkMarkets’ customer support service. There is an online form which you can fill out if you’re looking to open a support ticket, or if you’d prefer to email directly then there are addresses available for that purpose. A live chat function also exists, while you can make a phone call to the British, Spanish or Australian branches of the customer support office. Whatever route you decide to go down, then, someone should be available to take your call.
ThinkMarkets is a major name on the Australian trading scene now, and it’s easy to see why. This innovative broker has lots of customer service options for ease of contact, and it also provides a range of platform types like Meta Trader 4. While the presence of Meta Trader 5 would be handy, this isn’t a deal breaker for most trading clients.
