What can you trade with XM?

XM is a globally recognised forex and CFD broker that offers 1,000+ tradable assets over eight different asset classes. You may trade forex pairs and CFDs for stocks, commodities, equity indices, precious metals, and energies.

If you are connected to the Belize subsidiary, you may also trade 100 share instruments directly and CFDs for selected cryptocurrency pairs. The shares offered are available on exchanges from the US, the UK and Germany.

Forex

With XM, you can trade over 55 foreign currency pairs, including majors, minors and a few exotics. Spreads are competitive, and there are no requotes or hidden fees. Overnight fees may apply on some accounts, but the swap charges are not assessed on Ultra Low accounts.

A variety of MT4 and MT5 trading platforms enable trading on any device so that you might have 24 hours trading for five days of the week. The average daily spread for the popular EUR/USD currency pair is 1.7 pips.

Stocks and indices

You can trade 1,261 stock CFDs. The portfolio consists of stocks from 18 countries, each with their own trading hours. The XM website helps you by posting the assets along with information related to when you can trade the item. The same conditions also apply to CFD trading in 14 equity indices from around the world and 10 futures indices.

Can you trade shares directly with XM? Yes, you can trade up to 100 different share offerings, but in order to do so, you must have an account serviced by its Belize subsidiary. As these shares are offered for trading by exchanges in the US, the UK and Germany, a small commission will apply, based on the exchange accessed. XM requires a minimum deposit of $10,000.

Can you trade options with XM?

XM does not offer options-trading. Options are not currently in the XM portfolio. This also applies to Bonds and ETFs.

Cryptocurrency

Trading CFDs in cryptocurrency pairs is restricted to its Belize subsidiary, authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Commission (FSC).

The XM crypto portfolio consists of 31 crypto pairings, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, and several others. Leverage up to 1:250 is offered, as this subsidiary does not have to comply with UK or EU regulators. Trading is conducted “24/7”, and with CFDs, it is easy to go short on any of these crypto pairings.

How does XM compare to competitors?

Does XM compare favourably with competitors regarding the trading of forex pairs, stock trading, options, etc.? Yes, XM does compare as above average, with its portfolio offering of 1,000+ trading instruments. It offers the most popular asset classes and asset choices, though a very discriminating trader might also want access to options, ETFs and bonds.
